The X8 is an I/O module that provides 8 independent I/O channels that can each be configured as a digital input, analog input (0-5V), or as a sinking or sourcing digital output (up to 20mA each or 85mA total when powered by 12VDC - see manual for details). The X8 can also be used to read up to 8 Dallas 1-wire sensors for temperature monitoring or as a Wiegand -> RS485 gateway for Access Control applications. The X8 can communicate with a higher level control system via Modbus485. It is also accessible over Ethernet by using the BarioNet I/O Gateway, which communicates with up to 8 of the modules concurrently and allows for monitoring of the Inputs and control of the Outputs via HTTP, TCP, or ModbusTCP.
